The automated movement and storage of work-in-process and finished goods in production processes requires monitoring and overload protection devices at critical points in the process lines. One example are chain conveyors in the automotive industries which have to be immediately stopped in case of jamming or other disturbances in the line. Similar applications are high rack storage areas with automated handling that require overload protection in critical areas.
