The degree of protection describes the degree of protection of a housing or cover against foreign bodies, contact and water. Degrees of protection are divided into IP codes, where IP stands for International Protection. The degrees of protection for housing are specified in the EN 60529 standard. For HAEHNE force transducers and measuring amplifiers, the available protection class is listed on the respective data sheet.
The individual degrees of protection are represented as a combination of the two letters IP and two numbers:
the 1st digit defines the protection against contact and foreign bodies (dust, sand),
the 2nd digit defines the protection against water or moisture
